Experience
My studio is a private, home based salon designed to feel calm, comfortable, and personal. Appointments are one on one, so you’ll have my full attention in a quiet, relaxed setting.
You’re welcome to park out front or in the driveway accessed through the alley behind the house. Please enter through the main door. The salon is the first room when you come in. I ask that you arrive on time, and feel free to text me if you need assistance or directions. I’m always happy to meet you at the door.
Light refreshments are available, and a washroom is located next to the salon. Shoes on is preferred. Friendly pets may be present, but can be moved if you’d rather a pet free appointment.
My goal is for you to feel welcomed, at ease, and completely taken care of from the moment you arrive.

& Aftercare
Your system is 100% human hair, but that doesn’t mean that it requires the same treatment as your own.
What many clients tend to forget is that although the hair is semi-permanently attached to your own hair, the hair is still false and requires its own special after-care.
Below is a list of do’s, don’ts and products that are recommended for you to use. Many of these products can be found in your local store e.g. Boots. If you do have any questions or concerns in regards to your system that may need specialist products or care, please contact the your technician immediately.
Do’s & Don’ts
-
Once your system has been placed on your hair, do allow up to 48hrs, or in some cases if the client is hyper sensitive, even a week for your hair and scalp to adjust to the new found weight. If after this time you are still having some discomfort, it could be that you are overly sensitive on your scalp area and so it’s best that you address this. You could require some adjustment, weight taken out or in extreme cases, your system may need to be removed (This is very rare).
IF IRRITATION/DISCOMFORT OCCURS, CONTACT YOUR TECHNICIAN IMMEDIATELY.
Leave it at least 48hrs after a new system to wash it. Try not to wash the hair anymore than once a week.
When brushing your hair, brushing from the bottom and working your way to the root to remove any knots.
ALWAYS brush styling products out of your hair before washing the hair. When sleeping, try to leave hair in a loose, low ponytail or plait.
When shampooing and conditioning hair, try to only wash the system once a week. Wash in an upright position, e.g. in the shower.
Once clean; towel dry, squeeze out excess water and pat dry.
DO NOT RUB THE HAIR TOGETHER!PLEASE ALWAYS use a styling serum, oil or cream before drying.
ALWAYS Ensure that the system is dried throughly and never left damp/wet as this can cause the system to smell.
NEVER, EVER try to remove the system yourself.
Remember, the system is designed to be maintained. You will need to book in for a maintenance appointment between 4-6 weeks for first application to check the condition of your natural hair underneath and to also maintain your natural hair underneath. You will then have the unit reapplied and can then extend your wear time to 6-9 weeks before maintenance is due. It is common for matting to occur under the system at the root where the system is attached. This is normal, the hair loss that occurs is natural hair shedding that has been unable to come away from the scalp while the unit is in place. This can be brushed out safely.
-
DO NOT USE home box dyes. We cannot guarantee how these will affect the condition of your system, and the manufacturers guarantee will be invalidated.
Always contact your professional for any colouring services.
Toning, Darkening or Semi-Permanents must be conducted by a trained professional. Do not use a peroxide level higher than 6%.
-
We DO NOT encourage you to wear your system without maintenance for longer than 4-9 weeks.
With regular maintenance your system should last from 9-12 months.
Please feel free to contact us should you have any concerns.
-
Try to keep your system dry and out of the sun by wearing a hat etc.
When swimming either in the sea or in a pool, ALWAYS put or run through leave-in or normal conditioner (see product list). This will help to act as a barrier from the sea water or chlorine.
ALWAYS shampoo and condition your hair after swimming or visiting a beach.
DO NOT USE MOROCCAN OIL. Moroccan Oil contains linseed oil which in the sun can turn blonde or light hair orange.
Unfortunately, due to climate and the use of different chemicals, travelling abroad will invalidate your guarantee.
-
Your technician may stock a range of after-care products that are ALL system friendly. Please talk to your stylist about after-care packages and styling products.
DO NOT USE ANY OF THESE:
TIGI Range,
Trésemmé
Head & Shoulders,
Vosene
Herbal Essence,
Garnier Fructis
Or any STRONG dandruff shampoos.
These contain certain acids/sulphates and detergents that disintegrate the bond and leave it sticky like chewing gum, thus matting your own hair.
If this happens PLEASE CONTACT YOUR TECHNICIAN IMMEDIATELY! An emergency appointment will be made for you and there will be a cost at stylists discretion.
